Which is Better Rosetta Stone or Rocket Spanish?
Most people interested in learning to speak Spanish are unable to travel to Spain, Peru, Mexico or other Spanish speaking countries. Therefore, they search for a good program, from which to learn Spanish. Some try programs promising to teach them Spanish in few short lessons and even pay large sums of money for these programs. However, they often discover they spent their money, but are did not learn to speak Spanish comfortably.
Many Levels of Spanish
Some people learn enough Spanish to order a meal or ask for a few directions. However, they cannot say with confidence, they are Spanish speakers. They have a fear someone may ask them a question or give them an answer in Spanish, which they cannot understand. These people are unable to read and write and they lack the knowledge to recognize the subtle distinctions between some nouns and verbs.
Those who try Rosetta Stone find it is a good program as far as learning some basic words, phrases and sentences. While the software you receive is good software, the price is excessive even though you receive three levels of self-study for $700. This is a lot of money for the small amount of learning materials meant to teach you how to speak Spanish. The teaching method is rote learning. You listen and hear a word, phrase or sentence and then you repeat the word phrase or sentence several times until you can say it correctly. Rosetta Stone lacks lessons in even the basics of Spanish grammar, sentence structure and other important aspects of the language.
